YIMBY Visits 277 Fifth Avenue As Façade Nears Completion

Construction at 277 Fifth Avenue is moving along quickly, with just thirteen floors of façade installation remaining. Victor Group and Lendlease are developing the 55-story skyscraper in NoMad, on the corner of 30th Street. The tower, designed by Rafael Vinoly Architects, has a dark-indigo façade made of reinforced cast-concrete panels, fabricated in Finland. Multi-layered glazed curtain walls were designed for optimal thermal and acoustical performance, and there is also a cantilever over its southern neighbor.

New High-Rise Planned for 7 Boerum Place, Downtown Brooklyn

Speculation has been raised around what Avery Hall Investments would do after purchasing a site from Brooklyn Law School for $76.5 million back in 2016, and acquiring 50,000 square feet of air rights from two nearby properties for another $16 million. Now, permits have been filed for a 21-story mixed use building at 7 Boerum Place, in Downtown Brooklyn. The high-rise will rise on the corner of Fulton Mall, a pedestrian area between Flatbush Avenue and Adams Street that houses over 200 stores. Avery Hall is partnering with Allegra Holding and Aria Development Group.

The Riff Hotel in Chelsea has been sold for $27.5 million, and developers hope to build a new 12-story mixed-use building in its place. The site is a block away from Penn Station with access to subways, the LIRR, and Amtrak. Eastern Star Development purchased the site from Salt Equities.
