Permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 669 St. Marks Avenue, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Rogers and Nostrand Avenues, the interior site is a merger with the lot at 673 St. Marks Avenue. Nearby transit access includes the Nostrand Avenue LIRR train stop that is four blocks north of the proposed development, and the A and C trains at the Nostrand Avenue subway station six blocks north of the project. Massimo Cocco of Masmark LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Robert A.M. Stern Architects’ New Morningside Heights Skyscraper Revealed at 100 Claremont Avenue

The Union Theological Seminary is working to sell air rights to Lendlease and L+M Development Partners to create a 42-story tower in Morningside Heights. Robert A. M. Stern Architects is designing the new mixed-use building, which will stand 466 feet to its pinnacle, easily making it the tallest in the neighborhood. The project is part of a $125 million rehabilitation initiative which will also include much needed renovations to the Seminary’s 119-year old campus.

Permits Filed for 2776 Fulton Street in East New York, Brooklyn

Permits for a new six-story building at 2776 Fulton Street were filed this week. Located in East New York, Brooklyn, between Miller Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue, the proposed development site is eight blocks west of the Cleveland Street subway station, serviced by the J train. Alfred Basal of Plaza Homes is listed as the owner of the project.

Central Park Tower Approaches 1,550-Foot Pinnacle, Nears Tallest Roof Height in New York City & The Western Hemisphere

Wrapping up the year and YIMBY’s construction countdown, it comes as no surprise that Extell‘s Central Park Tower tops the list. The supertall will soon become New York City’s tallest residential building, and it will also have the highest roof of any structure in the Five Boroughs. The 1,550-foot-tall tower is being designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. The site has previously gone by its address, 217 West 57th Street. The building has now surpassed its 90th floor, and currently stands over 1,300 feet atop 57th Street.

Permits Filed, Rendering Released for 1111-1115 Decatur Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn

Permits for two new four-story buildings at 1111-1115 Decatur Street were filed this week, and today, YIMBY has the first look at renderings. Located in Bushwick, Brooklyn, the proposed residences are three blocks south of the Wilson Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. According to the permits, owners for 1111 Decatur Street and 1115 Decatur Street are Chaim Landau and David Banda, respectively.

Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 435 West 48th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, the interior development site is directly across from the Clinton Community Garden. Hell’s Kitchen Park is steps away, on the corner of 9th Avenue and West 48th Street. Nearby transit access is provided courtesy of the 50th Street subway station and the C and E trains, at 8th Avenue. Dharshyni Peries of LLS Number 1 LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

SHoP Architects’ “Stairway to Heaven” Nears Pinnacle at 111 West 57th Street, Atop Billionaire’s Row

111 West 57th Street is nearing the upper section of its topmost residential and mechanical floors. With a height to width ratio of 24:1, the SHoP Architects-designed tower will soon become the most slender building in the world. It is the 2nd-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City, and will soon climb to an 1,438-foot-high pinnacle between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. The supertall is being developed by JDS Development and Property Markets Group, and Douglas Elliman is in charge of sales and marketing for the 46 condominiums within.

New 50-Story Tower Coming to 1780 First Avenue in Yorkville, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a new 50-story tower at 1780 First Avenue, in Yorkville, Manhattan, adjacent to where the New York City Housing Authority‘s John Haynes Holmes Towers currently stand. Located at the corner of 1st Avenue and East 93rd Street, the two buildings presently on the site were built in 1968 and have 537 units across 25 floors with a gross square footage of 386,322. The nearest transit access is two city blocks north at the 96th Street – 2nd Avenue station, courtesy of the N and Q trains.

HPD’s 190 Essex Street Revealed in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn

“The Standard” Passes Halfway Mark at 251 Northern Avenue in New Rochelle, New York

Now almost at its tenth floor, “The Standard” is on its way to an imminent 14-story pinnacle above New Rochelle. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in April, and construction has progressed swiftly over the past eight months.
