Pace University Tower Tops Out at 15 Beekman Street in Financial District, Manhattan

Construction has topped out and façade work is underway on 15 Beckman Street, Pace University’s 27-story campus expansion in the Financial District. Designed by Manish Chadha of Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by SL Green Realty, the 338-foot-tall tower will yield 213,084 square feet with classrooms, dorm rooms, a dining facility, library, and a learning center. New Line Structures & Development is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 126-132 Nassau Street and is located at the corner of Beekman and Nassau Streets.

Exterior work is progressing on 139 Bowery, a 14-story mixed-use building in the Bowery section of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Raymond Chan Architects and developed by Global Joint Venture, the structure will yield 16 residential units as well as ground-floor retail space, a 550-square-foot medical facility, and office space on floors two through five. Mandarin Enterprises is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a relatively narrow plot between Broome and Grand Streets.

Façade installation has begun on 282-286 Grand Street, a seven-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Developed by Marc Straus, who has owned the site since the 1970s, the 23,500-square-foot structure will yield 25 rental apartments spread across 22,500 square feet and 1,000 square feet of commercial space. First Standard Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Forsyth and Eldridge Streets.
