Demolition Complete for ODA’s Tree-Topped Skyscraper at 75 Nassau Street in The Financial District

When YIMBY last visited the site of ODA‘s planned tree-topped skyscraper at 75 Nassau Street, the remaining buildings were still being demolished. Now, the lots for the 40-story tower are completely empty and cleaned up. Five buildings had to be razed to make way for the future 498-foot tall, 312,000 square foot structure, which promises to make a unique imprint on the Lower Manhattan skyline. Lexin Capital is the developer of the project, which appears to be stalled at the moment, with no progress since demolition currently visible.

45 Park Place Nears Halfway Mark On Way To 667-Foot Pinnacle in Lower Manhattan

It has been several months since YIMBY last checked on 45 Park Place, a soon-to-be 45-story, 667-foot residential tower rising in the blocks just below Tribeca. Now, the building is nearing the halfway mark. It is already surpassing adjacent structures that have hidden ongoing progress since the project began to vertically take off this year. The site is being developed by Sharif el-Gamal’s Soho Properties, and will have a substantial presence on the changing skyline by the end of the decade.

Demolition Permits Filed for 252 West 78th Street On The Upper West Side Of Manhattan

Demolition permits have been filed for the twelve-story building at 252 West 78th Street, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Owned by the Collegiate Churches of New York, the site will expand to 18 stories with both horizontal and vertical extensions, totaling an additional 148,299 square feet of development. With an increase in building height to 209 feet from 143 feet, the use will also change to residential, and it will have an address of 378 West End Avenue.

Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 637 East 176th Street in The West Bronx. Located between Arthur Avenue and Belmont Avenue, the site is situated in neighborhood that appears fairly suburban. Half a mile away is the MetroNorth Tremont train station, and closer to a mile away are the 174 St-Southern Boulevard and West Farms Square – East Tremont Avenue subway stations, both serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Arjan Gjushi of Al. Bros. Construction is listed as the owner behind the applications. Gjushi also recently filed permits for a 160-unit project nearby, at 29 Featherbed Lane.

Work Nears Completion for 110 University Place in Greenwich Village

William Macklowe’s 23-story mixed-use project in Greenwich Village is nearing completion. 110 University Place, aka 21 East 12th Street, is nearly finished, with construction with work on the lower two-story podium still underway. The project is a 52-unit tower designed by SLCE Architects. CNY Group is in charge of the construction, and 110 University Place contains just under 108,000 square feet of space.
