In early 2014, Steven Schnall’s six-story, nine-unit residential building topped-out at 15 Leonard Street, in Tribeca, and now Curbed has photos of the structure’s completed façade. Turett Collaborative Architects is designing, and the building is almost ready for opening after just two years since construction initially began. Curtis + Ginsberg Architects is serving as architect of record.
Property owner Salvatore Lombardi has filed demolition permits to remove the existing two-story, two-unit house at 139 15th Street, in southern Gowanus, two blocks north of the Prospect Avenue stop on the R train. The property could yield a new development of 6,164 square feet, and Brownstoner notes that applications were filed in 2011 for a five-story, eight-unit building. The site hasn’t changed hands since 2010, so plans for such a project may still be in the works.
Gotham Organization has acquired the vacant lot at 130 St. Felix Street, on the block immediately north of Atlantic Terminal in Fort Greene for $5.5 million. According to Brownstoner, the vacant property can accommodate a building of 75,114 square feet, and soil tests were done recently, which usually determines the type of foundation a new building will need. Details have not yet been released, and a new building would require approval from City Planning.
Plans have been filed to build a 12-story mixed-use development with commercial and community space at 46 Cook Street, between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street near Bushwick Houses in East Williamsburg.
Aleksander Karasik, of Karasik Law Group, has filed applications to build a two-story, three-unit residential building on the vacant lots at 2998-3002 Gerritsen Avenue, in the largely single-family neighborhood of Gerritsen Beach. The building will measure 3,230 square feet in total, which means units should average 1,075 square feet. Hansa Building Engineering is the applicant of record, and the site’s former two-story home was demolished in 2010.
