An anonymous Jamaica-based development firm has filed applications for a three-story, four-unit residential building at 94-74 199th Street, in Hollis, Queens. The project will measure 5,511 square feet and its resdiential units should average 1,378 square feet apeice, indicative of condominiums. There will be two off-street parking spaces. Jin Woo Jang’s Little Neck-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 8,155-square-foot property is vacant. The site’s two-story residential predecessor was demolished back in 2006. The Hollis Long Island Rail Road station is five blocks away.

Revealed: Two Four-Story, Four-Unit Condo Buildings At 220-222 Withers Street, Williamsburg

A rendering has been revealed of two four-story, four-unit residential buildings planned at 220-222 Withers Street, in northern Williamsburg. The buildings will measure 6,471 square feet each, and across both, the residential units should average 1,263 square feet apeice. The apartments will be condominiums. Sheepshead Bay-based BK Developers is the developer and Igor Zaslavskiy’s Brooklyn-based Zproekt Architecture is behind the design. The 5,000-square-foot site was occupied by two single-family homes until those were demolished over the summer. A construction timeline has not been disclosed.

One Year After Demolition, High-Profile Site Remains Fallow At 44-46 Purves Street, Long Island City

The first residential high-rises in Long Island City’s Court Square neighborhood rose along Purves Street about a decade ago. Today, the block-long street forms the borough’s densest high-rise canyon. The cul-de-sac is built out from end to end, except for the roughly-triangular plot at its southern terminus. A seven-story, 33-unit residential building was proposed for the lot early last year. Though the site was cleared for construction, 44-46 Purves Street has not seen any activity in a year, in contrast to bustling construction activity along the rest of the block. As we await news of further progress and building renderings, the site’s pivotal location as a neighborhood gateway gives the developer an opportunity to present an architecturally notable design.
