Construction at 232 East 54th Street has topped out. The structure stands 420 feet tall above Midtown East and is being designed by Ismael Leyva Architects. YIMBY last reported that Elk Investors was listed as the exclusive developer of the building, but ownership may have fully transferred to Mossanen Group and an LLC known as East 54th St. Properties. The tower was originally slated to only rise around 20 stories, but this scope was doubled to 40.
StudioMDA will appear before the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) this week with updated proposals to expand an existing two-story building in TriBeCa. Located at 85 Franklin Street, the property is sandwiched between two five-story buildings and currently contains one residential unit and a ground floor restaurant. The proposed expansion would top-off at five stories to better match its neighbors on either edge of the structure.
Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 2070 Honeywell Avenue in West Farms, The Bronx. Located between East 179th Street and East 180th Street, the lot is about five blocks from the West Farms Square – East Tremont Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. David Pllumbi is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The amenity list for 220 Central Park South just landed a compelling addition. Jean Georges Vongerichten will manage a 54-seat, residents-only restaurant on the second floor of the Midtown residential skyscraper. The 67-story tower is designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and contains 593,000 square feet of interior space. Vornado Realty Trust is the developer of the $1.4-billion-dollar project and expects a $3.4 billion sellout.
Construction at 251 West 14th Street has risen even with the parapets of the adjacent buildings in Chelsea, and work will soon begin on the cantilevering floors that jut out over its western neighbor. Meanwhile, the structure’s central reinforced concrete core is climbing closer toward the top of the 11-story structure. Isay Weinfield collaborated with FORM4 Design Studio PLLC to design the residential property. Pizzarotti is in charge of the build, which is expected to yield a total of 25 condominiums.
