Located at the intersection of East 116th Street and Park Avenue, the corner lot is one block west of the 116 Street subway station, serviced by the 6 train. Work is continuing on the topped-out Brooklyn Tower, a 1,066-foot residential supertall at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn and number six on our December countdown. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS, the 93-story tower holds the title of the tallest structure in the Outer Boroughs and will yield a total of 550 residences, with 150 for purchase, as well as a 100,000-square-foot retail podium bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, and DeKalb Avenue to the south. The Brooklyn Tower complex also includes the refurbishing and repurposing of the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn, which is being incorporated into the podium. Douglas Elliman is serving as the exclusive marketing, sales, and leasing agent. Thirty percent of rentals are designated as affordable housing units, and residences for purchase start over 500 feet above street level.
NYCHA has revealed its plans to renovate Frederick E. Samuel Apartments, a 42-building affordable housing portfolio in Harlem. The Frederick Samuel Apartments stretch from West 139th Street to West 147th Street, between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Lenox Avenue. The portfolio includes 664 units and houses 1,379 residents, some of whom reside in buildings more than 100 years old.

Located between East 197th and East 198th Streets, the interior lot is three blocks north of the Kingsbridge Road subway station, serviced by the B and D trains. Excavation is continuing at 262 Fifth Avenue, the site of a proposed 1,043-foot residential supertall in NoMad and number eight on our year-end construction countdown. Designed by Russian-based firm Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development under the Five Points 262 Project, LLC, the 60-story tower will yield 139,168 square feet of residential space divided into 41 residential units and 10,850 square feet of retail space on the first two floors. CM & Associates Construction Management, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.
