Residential Tower Tops Out at 24-16 Queens Plaza South in Long Island City

Greystone Development‘s most recent residential project has now topped-off at 24-16 Queens Plaza South. Located in Long Island City, the 23-story tower will eventually comprise over 100,000 square feet, yielding 117 residential units and a full suite of amenities including an open-air rooftop deck, a pool, a fitness center, co-working spaces, and more to be announced upon completion. Redevelopment of DUMBO’s 29 Jay Street Seeks LPC and Zoning Approvals

Developer Forman Ferry has proposed redeveloping an existing two-story structure with a new 11-story commercial office building with ground floor retail. Located at 29 Jay Street in the DUMBO Historic District, the project would require approvals from both the Landmark Preservation Commission and the City Planning Department to proceed. The agencies will specifically review the 150-foot proposed height of the building, which requires new zoning amendments, and how the exterior facade would impact the existing aesthetic of the surrounding neighborhood.

Permits Filed for Phase One of Spofford Redevelopment Project “The Peninsula,” Hunts Point, The Bronx

This March, YIMBY covered the approval of the Spofford Juvenile Detention Center by the NYC Council Committee on Land Use. Now, permits have been filed for a fourteen-story mixed-use building at 720 Tiffany Street in Hunts Point, The Bronx. The new development, named ‘The Peninsula,’ will be six blocks from the Longwood Avenue subway station, serviced by the 6 trains. Six blocks further is the Prospect Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. The NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is leading the transformation.
