Preparations Underway for BIG’s Two-Skyscraper Development along Williamsburg’s Waterfront

Preparations for construction appear to be underway at the site of the River Street Waterfront Master Plan, Bjarke Ingels Group‘s proposed two-skyscraper, 1000-unit complex along the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn. Developed by Two Trees, the project includes the 600-foot-tall 87 River Street and 650-foot-tall 105 River Street, as well as the alteration of the shoreline to create a circular beach, a 2.9-acre park, and two breakwaters directly to the north of the six-acre Domino Park.

PAUL’s 302 Broadway Tops Out in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction has topped out on 302 Broadway, a six-story mixed-use residential building located next to the elevated Marcy Avenue subway platform in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The reinforced concrete structure stands 65 feet tall and is currently covered in a thick layer of scaffolding and black netting. Designed by Brooklyn-based design firm PAUL and developed by Kazi Billah, 302 Broadway spans 26,070 square feet and will include 5,790 square feet of ground-floor retail space, 5,790 square feet of medical offices on the second floor, a 12-car garage on the third floor, and 24 residential units from the fourth to sixth floors. The site is bounded by Broadway, Marcy Avenue, and South Ninth Street, and overlooks the southbound lanes of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

Construction Wraps at 187 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Work is wrapping up at 187 Kent Avenue, where the brick exterior and wraparound row of ground-floor arches are complete. The new 140,036-square-foot mixed-use residential structure stands seven stories high between North 3rd Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue in WilliamsburgBrooklyn. The industrial-inspired red masonry façade with its scattered pattern of white bricks covers all four sides and surrounds the grid of large windows and balconies with subtle decorative metal railings. Diego Aguilera Architects P.C. is the architect of record, while CW Realty Management, which purchased the site for $43 million, is the developer. Leasing is now available for the 96 units.
