Construction is now complete on 106 Mt. Hope Place, a new eight-story rental property in the Mount Hope section of The Bronx. Designed by Node Architecture, the building comprises 28,294 square feet with amenity spaces that include bike storage and a rear yard.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building with affordable housing at 45-07 45th Street in Sunnyside, Queens. Located between Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue, the lot is two blocks from the 46 Street-Bliss Street subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Alex Lau under the 4502 Sunnyside LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Work is finally finished on Anish Kapoor’s mirrored bean sculpture at the base of 56 Leonard Street, an 831-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Tribeca. The 19-foot-tall, 48-foot-long amorphous artwork was unveiled last week beside the main lobby and ground-floor retail space of the 57-story reinforced concrete tower, which was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Hill West Architects for Alexico Grpup and opened in 2017. Performance Structures was the fabricator for Kapoor’s 40-ton permanent installation, located at the corner of Leonard and Church Streets.
Construction is nearing topping out on 428 West 19th Street, an 11-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by Anbau Enterprises, which purchased the property for $18.5 million in 2020, the 118-foot-tall structure will yield 32 condominium units with an average scope of 1,463 square feet. Ryder Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is located on an interior lot between Ninth and Tenth Avenues.
Titanium Realty Group has revealed proposals to redevelop an assembly of land into a mixed-use rental property at 157 West Chester Avenue in Port Chester, Westchester County. If approved by the Port Chester Planning Commission, the new building will top out at 15 stories and comprise 169 market-rate rental units, 21 affordable housing units designated for households earning 60 percent area median income (AMI), 1,465 square feet of commercial space, and two levels of parking for up to 110 vehicles.
