Work Appears Stalled for ODA-Designed 303 East 44th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan

Today YIMBY has an update on progress, or lack thereof, for 303 East 44th Street, situated along East 44th Street between First and Second Avenues in Midtown East, which is tentatively set to stand 600 feet to its rooftop. The tower is being designed by ODA Architects and developed by Triangle Assets, with 44 condominiums spanning between 1,000 to 2,000 square feet apiece. Renderings were revealed nearly three years ago in 2015, however, since then, there has been no clear progress. The site is still home to two small red buildings, one of which is four stories tall, and the other standing three stories. It is unclear when they will come down, but it is most certain that they are still standing.

232 East 54th Street Tops Out in Sutton Place, Manhattan

232 East 54th Street has topped-out, and now stands 24 stories above a 5,000 square foot plot of land in the Midtown East neighborhood of Sutton Place, between Second and Third Avenues. Ismael Leyva Architects is the designer while Elias Kalimian of Elk Investors is the developer of the project. The 237-foot tall mixed-use building covers 59,381 square feet, and will have 75 units within averaging close to 800 square feet apiece.

Final Touches Underway for 200 East 59th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan

Macklowe Properties‘ newest residential tower at 200 East 59th Street stands 35 stories above Midtown East. Its entirety is now nearing completion as work begins to wrap on the lower floors. While advertising may promise elephants, giraffes, and other live animals for prospective residents of the 67 condominiums, reality provides a bold white facade and neatly stacked, and slightly protruding wraparound balconies. The building was designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and rises to a total height of 490 feet from the retail base.
