Building applications were filed for the site spanning from 513 3rd Avenue to 165 12th Street, on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 12th Street in Gowanus, back in late July. Now, YIMBY has the reveal for the project, which is being designed by prolific architects Issac & Stern.
The Lower Lower East Side, aka Two Bridges, now has its first official skyscraper, with One Manhattan Square having topped-out yesterday. The tower, which also goes by its address 252 South Street, stands 847 feet and 72 actual floors (80 marketing) to its pinnacle, having risen the last ten floors to its rooftop since YIMBY last checked in on the site, in late August.
Yet another desolate waterfront lot in Greenpoint is in for a major redevelopment, with applications now filed for 37 West Street, between Oak and Noble streets. SLCE is the architect of record for the project, which will rise 14 floors and 211 feet to its rooftop, indicating generously-sized ceilings for the residences within. There will be 92 units spread out over 87,434 square feet of space, as well as a 3,300 square-foot community facility component. At about 950 square feet apiece, and accounting for the high ceilings, condos would seem very likely. Lipa Friedman of M&H Realty LLC is listed as the developer.
Five blocks to the northeast of the Main Street stop on the 7 Train, Flushing is about to see yet another new mixed-use development. Applications have been filed for a seven-story building at 35-22 Parsons Boulevard, on the site of an existing assortment of one-story retail space.
As Jersey City’s waterfront boom only keeps getting bigger, the action over at Journal Square has taken a backseat, especially with the completion of the first tower within Journal Squared. But with that project’s second phase now getting ready to break ground, plans for the nearby One Journal Square are also apparently gearing to move forward.
