Façade work is progressing on The Charlotte, a 57-story mixed-use skyscraper at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects for Mack-Cali’s Roseland Residential Trust, the 626-foot-tall reinforced concrete superstructure topped out back in early September, and its glass and metal curtain wall has since risen more than halfway to the parapet. The property will yield 750 units with interior design by Fogarty Finger. Melillo + Bauer Associates is the landscape architect, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, AMA Consulting Engineers is the mechanical engineer, and KSS Architects is the designer of the school that will be located in the podium.
Excavation is set to begin at 144 First Street in Jersey City‘s Powerhouse Arts District, the site of a 12-story mixed-use building. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture and developed by EPIRE, the project will yield over 111,000 square feet with 84 apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom units.
Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 297 Wallabout Street in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Harrison Avenue and Throop Avenue inside the Broadway Triangle neighborhood, the interior lot is one block from the Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the M and J trains. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by COA 99 Hudson, LLC, the tower stands as the tallest building in the state of New Jersey. Plaza Construction is in charge of the construction with Vidaris overseeing the installation of the glass and Jura limestone envelope. 99 Hudson Street is situated on a full-block parcel bound by Hudson Street to the east, Grand Street to the south, Greene Street to the west, and York Street to the north. Meanwhile there has already been 70 closings so far and there are expected to be over 150 closings by the end of 2020.
