The last time YIMBY checked in on Ceruzzi Properties’ 138 East 50th Street in late August, the residential tower had just climbed past its 40th floor. Now, construction appears to have reached the parapet, 800 feet and 63 floors above the Midtown streets below, as seen in the latest update from Tectonic.
Today YIMBY has the first renderings for 15 Somers Street, a six-story residential building designed by Feingold and Gregory Architects. The depiction shows a façade with warehouse-style windows and light beige brick. An ivy-covered wall protects five parking spaces on the first floor. The traditional style will match the pre-war brick row houses on both sides of the new development.
Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 27 Buchanan Place, in The Bronx’s University Heights. The site is a block and a half away from the 183rd Street Subway Station, serviced by the 4 train, and seven blocks away from the 182-183rd Street Subway Station, serviced by the B and D trains.
Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 39-25 27th Street in Long Island City, Queens. The site is a dozen blocks from the East River waterfront, and five blocks away from 39th Avenue subway station, serviced by the N and W trains. Astoria-based Anthony Cucich will be responsible for the development and design.
Leasing has begun for two timber buildings being built at 320 and 360 Wythe Avenue, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The projects are making history by way of construction materials, and will become the first new developments in over a century to be built in New York City with a timber structure. Hansen Architects, established in 1945, will be responsible for the design.
