Staten Island’s ‘West Brighton’ NYCHA Complex to Receive $100M in Facility Upgrades

The New York City Housing Authority has partnered with BFC Partners, CB Emmanuel Realty, and non-profit organization Catholic Homes New York to complete $100 million in capital improvements at the West Brighton residential campus in Staten Island. Known formally as West Brighton I and II, the scope of work will impact more than 1,400 residents or 574 apartments spread across 14 buildings.

Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Grubb Properties, which purchased the property for $63 million in 2021, the 311-foot-tall structure will yield 417 units with 124 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 7,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space. 25-01 QPN Consigli Construction is the general contractor and King Contracting Group is responsible for brick and CMU installation at the project, which is located between Crescent and 27th Streets, directly adjacent to the elevated Queensboro Plaza station servicing the 7, N, and W trains.
