Touring the Under Construction Condo Conversion at 212 Fifth Avenue, Flatiron District

The Neo-Gothic high-rise at 212 Fifth Avenue has occupied a wedge-shaped plot just north of Madison Square Park since 1912. It once held furniture and garment manufacturers, who had their offices on the upper floors and massive showrooms on the lower ones. Now, Madison and Thor Equities are converting the 24-story building to condos, and they’re restoring the landmarked limestone facade and cornices in the process. YIMBY recently toured the property and got a close-up look at the restoration.

Loft-Style Apartments To Occupy Former Paragon Paint Factory In Long Island City

Back in June, YIMBY brought you news of a 28-story mixed-use tower planned for the site of the former Paragon Paint Factory at 45-40 Vernon Boulevard in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City. We know its 295 feet will shine and thanks to an interview with SHoP principal architect Gregg Pasquarelli, we know more about what will become of the factory building itself, which will connect to the new tower.

Nine-Story, 13-Unit Condo Project Wraps Up Construction At 290 West Street, TriBeCa

Back in October, YIMBY brought you an update on the nine-story, 13-unit residential building topping out at 290 West Street, in TriBeCa. Since then, the structure has received its cladding, as seen in these photos courtesy of Tectonic. The project’s condominiums range from 2,241 to 3,165 square feet, and the top three penthouses each have private outdoor space. Adjmi & Andreoli served as the design architect, while VE Equities is the developer. Only two units have yet to be sold, and move-ins can probably be expected by early 2016.
