Last week, YIMBY was the first media outlet to be given a tour of the sales gallery and construction site of the 55-story skyscraper at 277 Fifth Avenue, in Nomad, Manhattan, a project which we have reported on extensively over the past several years. Designed by Rafael Viñoly, the high-rise is currently on its 46th floor, with only nine to go before topping-out occurs. After a nerve-racking elevator ride outside of the building, we stepped out to what is currently its highest floor, which already offers expansive views of the New York City skyline.
Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 396 South 5th Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is a block away from the Hewes Street Subway Station, occasionally serviced by the J, M, and Z trains. Four blocks away is the Broadway Subway Station, serviced by the G train, which is one quick stop from the Metropolitan Avenue Subway Station, where one can transfer to the L train. BQBP Inc will be responsible for the development.
Today, YIMBY has a photo update on the site of the Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh. Foundation work is moving along for the soon-to-be 22-story residential building that will rise adjacent to the historic structure, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 2954 Brighton 6th Street, in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. The location is seven blocks away from the beach boardwalk, and nine blocks away from Ocean Parkway, serviced by the Q train. Spot Realty New York City will be responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for two five-story residential buildings at 88-30 and 88-34 54th Avenue in Elmhurst, Queens. The sites sits four blocks away from the Grand Avenue-Newton Subway Station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains. The 440,000 square foot Queens Place Mall is also only two blocks away, designed by SOM Architects, and completed in 1965. Xiu Qin Shi will develop 88-30, and Bi Jin Huang will be responsible for the development of 88-34.
