Façade installation is getting close to completion on Parcel F, a 57-story residential skyscraper in the two-tower Gotham Point development in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by The Gotham Organization, RiseBoro Community Partnership, Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the 559-foot-tall tower stands adjacent to Parcel G, its 33-story, 443-foot-tall sibling. Together, the buildings will yield 1,132 rental apartments, of which 75 percent will be dedicated to affordable housing with age-restricted homes for seniors, as well as a 1,100-seat Intermediate High School built by the School Construction Authority and a 5-acre waterfront park constructed by New York City’s Economic Development Corporation. Handel Architects is the interior designer and BHDM was responsible for the model apartment interiors for the property, which is bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west.
Construction is complete on 168 Plymouth Street, a ten-story residential project in the DUMBO, Brooklyn Historic District. Designed and developed by Alloy Development, the project involved the renovation and repurposing of the 102-year-old Concrete Daylight Factory at 42 Jay Street and the 132-year-old Brick & Timber Building at 50 Jay Street, with a one-story extension above the latter’s parapet. The property yields 46 units at the southwestern corner of Plymouth and Jay Streets, a short walk from the East River waterfront and Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Renderings from INOA Architecture reveal The Miroza Tower, a 25-story residential building at 44 Hudson Street in downtown Yonkers. When complete, the tower will introduce 250 rentals with a collection of amenity spaces and a small commercial component on the ground floor.
Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 2886 Atlantic Avenue in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Jerome Street, the corner lot is near the Van Siclen Avenue subway station, serviced by the J and Z trains. The Jay Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Façade installation has begun as construction continues to rise on 77-87 Commercial Street, a two-tower development along Newtown Creek in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Clipper Equity, the project consists of the 40-story, 298-unit 87 Commercial Street and the 30-story, 222-unit 77 Commercial Street, connected by a shared seven-story podium. The 811,000-square-foot property will yield 200 affordable housing units and a 300-vehicle parking garage below grade. Ray Builders Inc. is the general contractor, Hatfield Group is the façade consultant, RC Structures is pouring the concrete, and WSP is the structural engineer for the complex, which is located at the confluence of Commercial and Box Streets.
