Official Renderings Revealed Of Nordstrom Tower’s Retail Base Under Construction At 217 West 57th Street

Last week, YIMBY brought you a sneak peak of the glassy façade that will eventually be installed on Extell Development’s 95-story, 1,550-foot-tall condominium tower (officially Central Park Tower), currently under construction at 217 West 57th Street in Midtown. The supertall will boast Nordstrom’s first Manhattan flagship store, and now the Seattle Times has revealed official renderings of the building’s retail podium. The Seattle-based department store will span 363,000 square feet across eight stories (three below grade) in the development.


2100 Powell Avenue

Four Small Buildings Totaling 10 Residential Units Planned At 2100 Powell Avenue, Unionport

Bronx-based Esha Group has filed applications for four, small three-story residential buildings at 2100-2106 Powell Avenue, in the East Bronx’s Unionport neighborhood, located five blocks from the Parkchester stop on the 6 train. Two of the buildings will measure 3,363 square feet and have three units each, while the other two will measure 2,509 square feet and contain two units each. Across the entire development, residential space will total 8,902 square feet and individual units will average 890 square feet apiece. Akeeb Shekoni’s Long Island-based Askon Architects is the architect of record. An existing three-story building on the corner of Olmstead Avenue must first be demolished.


188-25 Woodhull Avenue

Four Three-Story, Three-Unit Residential Buildings Planned At 188-25 Woodhull Avenue, Hollis

Guy Iber, doing business as an anonymous Brooklyn-based LLC, has filed applications for four three-story, three-family residential buildings at 188-21 – 188-27 Woodhull Avenue, in Hollis, located three blocks from the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station. Each structure will measure 5,207 square feet, although the residential space across the entire development will add up to 15,624 square feet. That means full-floor units will average a family-sized 1,302 square feet apiece. Akeeb Shekoni’s Queens-based Askon Architects is the architect of record. Permits were filed last September to demolished the existing two-and-a-half-story house.


1138 Manhattan Avenue

Five-Story, Six-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed At 1138 Manhattan Avenue, Greenpoint

Property owner Tahira Chaudhry has filed applications for a five-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 1138 Manhattan Avenue, in northern Greenpoint, located at the corner of Box Street. It will encompass 9,648 square feet and will feature 1,180 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Residential units will begin on the second floor and should average 995 square feet apiece. There will be two units per floor on floors two and three, another unit on part of the fourth floor, and a duplex units on the rest of the fourth floor and the entire fifth floor. Fresh Meadows-based Jamil Coppin is the architect of record. An existing three-story townhouse must first be demolished.
