The 30th-tallest building on our year-end construction countdown is 111 Willoughby Street, a 40-story residential tower that has begun to rise in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed byGF55 Architects and developed by The Michaels OrganizationTriangle Equities, and Geolo Capital, the 437-foot-tall structure will span 205,000 square feet and yield 227 rental units, a 20,000-square-foot ministry center for the St. Boniface parish, and 1,814 square feet of commercial space. ZDG, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located by the intersection of Willoughby Street to the south and Duffield Street to the east.

THE 74 Closes in on Final Stories at 201 East 74th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Kicking off YIMBY’s annual year-end construction countdown of the 31 tallest buildings under construction in New York City is THE 74, a rising 32-story residential tower at 201 East 74th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Elad Group, which purchased the property for $61 million in April 2022, the 420-foot-tall structure will yield 42 condominium units and an accompanying collection of residential amenities. Rafael de Cardenas is the interior designer for the amenity spaces and the residences, which are being marketed by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group and will include half-floor two- and three-bedroom units, full-floor four- and five-bedroom homes, a single free-standing townhome, and a duplex penthouse. Press Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is alternately addressed as 1299 Third Avenue and located on an interior lot facing Third Avenue with two small panhandle extensions to East 74th and East 75th Streets.

Atlas Nears Completion At 270 Johnston Avenue In Jersey City

Construction is nearing completion on Atlas, a 24-story residential building at 270 Johnston Avenue in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood. Designed by MHS Architecture and developed by Alpine Residential and Fields Grade, the structure will yield 169 rental units in  studio to three-bedroom layouts with interiors by GRT Architecture. Many of the homes will feature private balconies with views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline.

Located near the intersection of Powers Street and Graham Avenue, the lot is near the Grand Street subway station, serviced by the L train.
