Seven-Story, Seven-Unit Residential Building Planned At 1701 Anthony Avenue, Claremont

Queen’s-based B&H Contracting Group has filed applications for a seven-story, seven-unit residential building spanning the vacant through-block lot at 1701 Anthony Avenue, in Claremont, just below the Cross-Bronx Expressway. The building will measure 8,466 square feet and will boast surprisingly large apartments, averaging 1,210 square feet each. Percy Griffin’s Griffin Architect & Planner is the applicant of record.


225 East 126th Street

Site Acquired For Proton Beam Therapy Center At 225 East 126th Street, East Harlem

Last Fall, YIMBY revealed renderings of the three-story, 115,000 square-foot proton beam therapy center being developed by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital and ProHEALTH at 225 East 126th Street, in East Harlem. Now, Commercial Observer reports the site has finally traded hands for $26 million. Construction is expected to begin this Summer for a Spring 2018 completion. VOA Associates is designing.


26-02 4th Street

Seven-Story, 46-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed At 26-02 4th Street, Astoria

Jewel Saeed, operating under an LLC, has filed applications for a seven-story, 46-unit mixed-use building at 26-02 4th Street, on Hallets Point, a piece of land poking out into the East River in Astoria. In the 42,340 square-foot building, the first two floors will house a healthcare facility measuring 10,435 square feet. The residential units, averaging 695 square feet, will spread across the upper five floors.

A three-story building must first be demolished. The building was formerly a factory before its residential conversion in 1995, now housing 13 units of supportive housing. Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record.


8-16 Nevins Street

Developers To Purchase Assemblage At 8-16 Nevins & 299 Livington Streets, Downtown Brooklyn

Adam America and Slate Property Group are in contract to acquire the connecting development sites spanning 8-16 Nevins Street and 299-301 Livingston Street, in Downtown Brooklyn, for more than $50 million. The assemblage reportedly boasts roughly 180,000 square feet in building potential. Demolition on the site’s existing low-rise buildings will continue once the transaction closes in the next few months.


151 Maiden Lane

Revealed: New Marriott Hotel Coming to 151 Maiden Lane, Financial District

The site at 151 Maiden Lane has gone through several different designs, revealed by YIMBY over the past few years, and while we’ve posted what appears to be the final look for the site’s 51-story residential tower, its hotel component has been missing. But now, YIMBY has the first renderings of the future Marriott, designed by Peter Poon, which will actually fit in fairly nicely with its surroundings.
