Five-Story, 48-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed At 244 East 198th Street, Bedford Park

William Wiegand, of O’Brien and Sons, has filed applications for a five-story, 48-unit mixed-use building at the vacant lot at 244 East 198th Street, in Bedford Park, five blocks from the B/D train’s Kingsbridge Road stop. The building will measure 44,285 square feet, and include an 11,925 square-foot commercial portion on the ground floor; residential units will average a rental-sized 675 square feet each. Mount Vernon-based Mastrogicomo Engineering is the applicant of record.

Five-Story Building At 55 Gansevoort Street To Be Converted Into 14-Key Hotel, Meatpacking District

Restoration Hardware is planning to convert the five-story, 25,000 square-foot building at 55 Gansevoort Street, in the Meatpacking District, into a 14-key boutique hotel. According to Crain’s, the ground floor of the building will feature a restaurant. Delshah Capital owns the five-story building, but Restoration Hardware — whose flagship store is located around the corner of 9th Avenue — has leased the entire property.

Permits Filed: 3620 Webster Avenue, Webster Commons Affordable Housing in Norwood

Six years ago, the city upzoned a quiet, largely vacant stretch of Webster Avenue next to Woodlawn Cemetery to allow the construction of a large affordable housing development, Webster Commons. Some of the buildings have already started renting through the city’s housing lottery process, but new building applications were filed yesterday for another piece of the project at 3620 Webster Avenue.
