Last November, developers Hartz Mountain and Panepinto Properties received a 30-year tax break for their 13-story, 240-unit mixed-use project at 3 Journal Square Plaza, in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood. In 2014, YIMBY brought you new renderings of the 12-story, 105-unit mixed-use building planned at 470 4th Avenue/237 11th Street, in Gowanus, and now Brownstoner reports the building is four stories above ground, and rising. Adam America, Slate Property Group and Naveh Shuster Group are developing, while Aufgang Architects is designing. The project, located a block from subway stops for the F, G and R trains, will include 5,260 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, and a 2017 completion date appears likely.
In February of 2014, YIMBY reported on filings for a 29-story, 249-key hotel at 6 Water Street, in the Financial District, and later that year, revealed an on-site rendering of the project, which is being designed by Gene Kaufman. Courtesy of a YIMBY reader, photos confirm the building is finally rising, and it’s now one floor above street level.
