YIMBY has a new batch of renderings that depict a full re-cladding of the 39-story 660 Fifth Avenue, a commercial building located between West 52nd Street and West 53rd Street. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Brookfield Properties, the $400 million project includes a 21st century facelift as well as the renovation of 1.5 million square feet of office space. Work is planned to commence once the ten remaining leases are completed and tenants vacate, some 12 to 18 months from now, as reported in a previous Wall Street Journal story.
The affordable housing lottery is now open for BPHN Senior Residences at 1488 New York Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use development in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Designed by Heritage Architecture and developed by Evangelical Crusade Christian Church and BEL Community Development, the 65,335-square-foot building will yield a total 89 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 58 studio apartments for senior residents at 50 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $0 to $45,500.
Façade installation is moving along at 1059 Third Avenue, a 481-foot-tall mixed-use tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Manuel Glas Architects for Real Estate Inverlad and Third Palm Capital, the slender 30-story structure is located between 62nd Street and 63rd Street and will yield a total of 127,000 square feet of newly built space. The property will contain 38 condominiums spread across 103,900 square feet, averaging around 2,740 square feet apiece.
New renderings from Rise Architecture reveal a commercial redevelopment and expansion project at 126 Pearl Street in the Financial District. Scope of work includes the renovation of an existing four-story building, a vaulted three-story addition, and a partially enclosed terrace level in between the two volumes.
