Located on West 116th Street between 5th Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, an 11-story building will soon rise at 20 West 116th Street and house 29,540 square feet of residential space. The project is being designed by GF55 Partners and developed by Carthage Advisors, and will replace the old Harlem Baptist Temple Church, which was partially demolished back in 2009.
In Park Slope, rentals at 223 Fourth Avenue, now branded as No. 223, have begun leasing. The 13-story building will contain 63 units ranging from studio to two-bedroom apartments, with pricing beginning at about $2,300 per month.
Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 58 Palmetto Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks away from the Gates Avenue subway station, serviced by the J and Z trains. Joel Schwartz of South Side Units will be responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 312 97th Street at Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The site is four blocks away from the Bay Ridge 95th Street subway station, end of the line for the R trains. Three blocks away is the Shore Road Park and Parkway, with views of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Vladimir Slobodyansky is listed as behind the applications.
After previously enduring a slight pause in construction, the site of the future Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center has picked up the pace of steel assembly currently forming the bottom sub-levels of the 130-foot structure. They will eventually form the secondary entrance and exit to the World Trade Center’s Vehicle Security Center. The project is already above street level and is being developed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), and designed by Joshua Prince-Ramus of Brooklyn-based REX Architecture. A 99-year lease was already approved for the project by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
