Property owner Vincent Cicala has filed applications for two three-story, two-family residential buildings at the vacant lots spanning 251-255 Detroit Avenue, in the Annadale section of Staten Island. The four units will span nearly 4,800 square feet of residential space, and Chris Ponisi is the architect of record.
Solomon Schwimmer, doing business as Winthrop Heights LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, 10-unit residential building measuring 8,260 square feet at 83 Winthrop Street, in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. Diego Aguilera is designing, and an existing two-story house must first be demolished.
Foot Locker has leased 36,000 square feet of retail space at 1460 Broadway — dubbed 8 Times Square — a 16-story commercial building in Midtown, reports the New York Post. The building is currently being renovated and repositioned in phases by Himmel+Meringoff and The Swig Company, and MdeAS Architects is designing. WeWork is leasing 180,000 square feet of office space above, and renovations are expected to be finished in 2016.
The property owner, Domnic Acona, of 205 12th Street, in Gowanus, has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit residential building measuring 4,960 square feet. Frank Petruso is designing, and an existing two-story wood-framed townhouse must first be demolished.
In 2013, Fosun International Ltd. bought One Chase Manhattan Plaza. They have re-branded it as 28 Liberty Street and now they want to re-develop the landmark. The proposal includes ground floor retail and major changes to the plaza, and was presented to the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday, but the commissioners had issues. So, the team will have to re-work their plan before they get the go-ahead.
