Rendering Up For Eight-Story Residential Building At 42-83 Hunter Street, Long Island City

Last December, YIMBY posted applications for Lions Group’s eight-story, 15-unit residential building at 42-83 Hunter Street, in Long Island City, and now The Court Square Blog has spotted on-site renderings of the project. The building will measure 12,335 square feet, which means units will average roughly 820 square feet. Jon Yung’s My Architect is the architect of record, and the site’s former single-story building has been removed. Excavation appears imminent, and completion is slated for Spring 2017.


World Trade Center Transit Hub

World Trade Center Transit Hub Receiving Finishing Touches, Financial District

Last October, construction was making quick progress at the World Trade Center Transit Hub, dubbed the Oculus, and the structure is now receiving its finishing touches. Platform B of the PATH’s WTC station has now opened to the public, and Platform C is currently being reconstructed. According to Curbed, glass installation for the structure’s skylight is also underway.

Three-Story, 10-Unit Building Filed At 424 Glenmore Avenue, East New York

Chaim Simkowitz’s Guardian Realty Management has filed applications for a three-story, 10-unit residential building spanning the lots of 424-436 Glenmore Avenue in East New York, two blocks away from the Liberty Avenue C train stop. Units will average 750 square feet each, and Solomon Rosenzweig applied for the permit. Demolition began earlier this year to remove the existing two-story townhouse at No. 424.


611 West 56th Street

35-Story Condo Building At 611 West 56th Street Will Have 80 Units

A 35-story, 80-unit condominium tower, currently in the design stage, is planned at 611 West 56th Street, also known as 823 11th Avenue, in Midtown West. The building will span 162,000 square feet and stand 420 feet in height, according to Dezeen, and Álvaro Siza is designing. Sumaida + Khurana is co-developing with LENY, and construction is slated to begin in 2016, with completion in 2018. Gabellini Sheppard is designing the interiors, while SLCE Architects will serve as the architect of record. A six-story building will need to be demolished first.
