New renderings are out for the Brooklyn Navy Yard development, consisting of a $2.5 billion urban manufacturing center. Once complete, the entire project will create around 5.1 million square feet for middle-class manufacturing companies. The mission-based non-profit Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation is responsible for the plans.
The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton has long been located at the intersection of 7th Avenue and West 47th Street. But in a few more years, the soon-to-be former hotel will house Times Square’s newest project, a nearly $2.5 billion redevelopment by L&L Holding Company, Maefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group. With the site purchased for $450 million, they plan to demolish the existing hotel and create a new 550,000 square foot and 46-story skyscraper, dubbed TSX Broadway. Plans also integrate the 105-year old Palace Theater. Approved by the Landmark Preservation Commission in November 2015, the historic structure will be lifted from its foundations and placed 30 feet above street level.
New permits have been filed for a 52-story residential building at 555 West 38th Street in the Hudson Yards district of Manhattan. While the site is across the street from the Jacob Javits Convention center, it is not immediately next to Related’s mega-development, being five blocks away from 55 Hudson Yards. Rockrose will be responsible for the development.
Extell Development Company has debuted a new boutique condominium project with immediate occupancy in Manhattan’s Park Avenue Historic District. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle Architects, the building is on the Upper East Side at 1010 Park Avenue, between East 84th and 85th Streets.
Permits have been filed a seven-story residential building at 3408 Glenwood Road, in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The site is five blocks away from the Flatbush Avenue subway station, end of the line for the 2 and 5 trains, and center of a significant rental intersection. Yanky Geldzahler of Triple C Builders will be responsible for the development.
