YIMBY has covered plans for 11-15 East 75th Street extensively, as the assemblage of three buildings created by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich wound its way through the Landmarks Preservation Commission over the past two years. While plans designed by Herzog & de Meuron had already been approved, Abramavoch has now acquired an adjacent structure at 9 East 75th Street which will be incorporated into what is seemingly the fastest-growing mega-mansion in New York City. Later today, the new design will be reviewed by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
YIMBY has an update on construction for 207 West 79th Street, a 13-story residential building on the Upper West Side. Our last report on the site’s progress in September of 2016 showed construction had just reached the seventh floor, with no façade installation underway. The site is just an Avenue away from the American Natural History Museum, and two Avenues away from Central Park. There is close access to the 1, 2, A, B, and C trains by foot.
A new massing has been revealed for Related Companies’ 511-525 West 18th Street and 500 West 19th Street. The developer made headlines in 2014 with their move to purchase the site for $200 million, setting a record for the West Chelsea neighborhood, and moved forward with City Planning Approvals by the end of 2016.
Permits have been filed for two lots at 643 and 645 5th Avenue, in South Slope, Brooklyn. Developer Ranco Capital LLC hopes to create two mixed-use buildings, rising four and six floors respectively. The location is just blocks from the scenic Greenwood Cemetery, and surrounded by commercial retail. The nearest subway station, 25th Street, is a half-mile away, and serviced by the D, N, R, and W trains.
Construction is complete, and sales have officially begun for a 36-unit building at 554 Fourth Avenue, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The site is seven blocks away from the 9th Street Subway Station, serviced by the D, F, G, N, R, and W trains. Also nearby is the Gowanus Canal. Residents will start to occupy the 11-story structure by mid-2018. Brookland Capital is responsible for development, and Douglas Elliman’s Tavivian Team will lead sales and marketing.
