Warehouses At 18-38 42nd Street To Be Delivered In 2016, Astoria

Excavation is currently underway for 11 two-story warehouse buildings spanning the lots of 18-21 – 18-27 41st Street and 18-22 – 18-42 42nd Street, in eastern Astoria, encircling the landmarked Steinway Mansion. According to Queens Chronicle, the buildings will stand 30 feet in height and will total 23,450 square feet. Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record, and an anonymous LLC, headed by the property owner Sal Lucchese, is developing. Completion is slated for Summer 2016.

Mixed-Use Conversion Of Hahne’s Building At 609 Broad Street Underway, Newark

L+M Development Partners, along with a slew of other partners and investors, are currently converting the four-story, 400,000 square-foot Hahne & Co. building, located at 609 Broad Street, in downtown Newark, into a mixed-use structure. 160 residential units are being sculpted out of the upper levels, and 75,000 square feet of retail will occupy the ground floor, which includes a 30,000 square-foot Whole Foods.

Urban View Realty has filed applications for a five-story, six-unit residential building at 320 Humboldt Street, in eastern Williamsburg, three blocks from the the L train stop at Graham Avenue. The building will measure 5,000 square feet, which means units will average 835 square feet. Woody Chen’s InFocus is the applicant of record, and an existing three-story, two-unit wood-framed structure must first be demolished.

Brooklyn Lyceum At 227 4th Avenue To Be Restored For Blink Fitness, Park Slope

Last week YIMBY revealed the 12-story, 68-unit residential building Greystone is planning at 225 4th Avenue, in Park Slope, and now the developer has found a tenant for the adjacent two-story Brooklyn Lyceum at 227 Fourth Avenue. According to The Wall Street Journal, Blink Fitness has leased 16,700 square feet in the landmarked building, which will undergo a restoration. The air rights over the Lyceum will be transferred to the neighboring project, and opening of the gym is slated for 2016.
