Lady Gaga closed out Roseland Ballroom back in April and now work is well underway on its replacement, as seen in photos from Tectonic. The replacement, as reported previously, is a 62-story, 675-foot-tall residential building designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Algin Management.
Deep in the heart of Bed-Stuy, a supportive housing developer hopes to build a five-story residential building. The has filed plans for a development at 500 Gates Avenue, between Tompkins and Marcy Avenues.
Construction kicked off in late 2014 on a 17-story, 151-key hotel planned at 444 Tenth Avenue, between West 34th and 35th Streets in Midtown’s Hudson Yards neighborhood. Since then, the 63,700 square-foot building has topped out and received a good chunk of its façade, as seen in photos by Tectonic. Window installation and construction on the project’s 4,768 square feet of ground-floor retail is currently underway. A restaurant will also operate on the ground floor and a fitness room will be located in the cellar. Aufgang Architects designed the building, YYY Development is building it and completion is expected in the spring of 2016.
Gan on Greene, a Jewish preschool organization, is currently converting the four-story building at 54 Greene Avenue, in Fort Greene, into a 45-seat school. According to Brownstoner, construction of the school is underway on the structure’s interior. The project will also include cleaning of the exterior. The program will include three classes and opening is scheduled for September of 2016.
