A mixed-use residential and commercial complex is coming to 37-14 34th Street in the Dutch Kills section of Long Island City. The project comprises two seven-story buildings, erected in two phases, containing 80 residential units.
Excavation work has begun on the site of a 17-unit residential development at 111 Leroy Street, located on the corner of Greenwich Street in the West Village. The project will consist of a 10-story, 12-unit mixed-use building at 111 Leroy Street, in addition to five single-family townhouses at 115-121 Leroy Street and 621 Greenwich Street.
Clifton, N.J.-based BuildPro Construction is proposing a four-story, nine-unit mixed-use project at 712 Grand Street, located in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette section. It will contain 500 square feet of commercial space and a 1,296-square-foot parking garage on the ground floor, followed by nine market-rate rental apartments on the floors above. A five-year tax exemption has already been granted by the city, Jersey Digs reported. A construction timeline has not been revealed at this time.
The Waldorf Astoria New York hotel, arguably one of the most famous in the world, has just over a month left before it closes for a massive condominium conversion. With that timeline in mind, the Landmarks Preservation Commission, on Tuesday, held a public hearing on the designation of some of the building’s interior spaces.
Brooklyn-based United Developers has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 163 MacDougal Street, in Ocean Hill. The project will measure 7,104 square feet and its residential units should average 688 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. There will be two unit across each above-grade floor. Pirooz Soltanizadeh’s Jamaica-based Royal Engineering is the applicant of record. The 25-foot-wide, 2,500-square-foot lot is vacant. Last year, the same developer renovated the three-story townhouse next door, at 165 MacDougal Street, into three apartments.
