Plans to construct a single-family townhouse at 56 Middagh Street in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District have finally been approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC). The LPC rejected the plans in January and December 2020, then approved the architectural plans on May 18, 2021.
Full demolition permits have been filed for 429, 433, and 437 Second Avenue in Kips Bay, Manhattan. A single building with 160 feet of frontage encompasses the three adjacent lots on the southwest corner of Second Avenue and East 25th Street.
Renovation permits have been filed for a five-story mixed-use building at 168 Mulberry Street in Little Italy, Manhattan. Located between Broome Street and Grand Street, the interior lot is within walking distance of Spring Street subway station, serviced by the 6 train. Also nearby is the Grand Street station, serviced by the B and D and Bowery station, serviced by the J and Z trains. Anthony Landi of the 166-168-170 Mulberry Street HDFC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Excavation work has begun at 625 Fulton Street, site of a proposed 941-foot tall, 79-story mixed-use skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Rabsky Group, which purchased the site for $158 million, the 1.8-million-square-foot project is planned to yield a mix of offices, residential units, retail space, an elementary school, and a public plaza. The property is located between Fulton Street to the south, Hudson Avenue to the west, DeKalb Avenue to the north, and Rockwell Place to the east.
Façade installation is continuing on 249 East 50th Street, a 15-story residential building in the Midtown East neighborhood of Turtle Bay. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by Tun Kyaw, the 151-foot-tall structure will yield 29 condominium units spread across 50,000 square feet, for an average of 1,700 square feet each. 249 East 50th Street is located near the corner of East 50th Street and Second Avenue.
