We have a bit of a theme going this week: updates from Baltic Street in Brooklyn. On Tuesday, we told you about the Baltic Park Slope at 613 Baltic Street. On Thursday, we told you about the rentals at 577 Baltic Street. Now, we have a report Adam America Real Estate’s “high-end” rentals under construction at 595 Baltic Street.
The Bronx is full of affordable and senior housing, but one non-profit is planning the city’s first affordable development for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender seniors in Tremont. Plans were filed last month for the seven-story facility at 771 Crotona Park North, across from the huge park of the same name.
Back in 1974, developer Sheldon Solow built a 50-story office tower at 9 West 57th Street that featured a dramatic, sloping facade clad in dark glass. Now he plans to knock down a little office building next door at 7 West 57th Street, to make way for a 19-story residential building.
Tishman Realty is planning a $65 million renovation on the four-story, 240,000-square-foot commercial-retail building at 247 West 42nd Street, in the Times Square section of Midtown. The 400-foot-long structure, which includes the retail space under the Westin Hotel at the corner of Eighth Avenue, will receive a more streamlined and modern façade, with billboard advertisements. The property owner plans to keep some existing tenants while replacing others, Crain’s reported. Construction is expected in 2018, with occupancy anticipated in 2019.
Meadow Partners has acquired, for $54 million, the six-story, 124,000-square-foot commercial building at 57 Willoughby Street, located at the corner of Lawrence Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The new owner plans to renovate the property, which includes rebuilding the 9,450-square-foot ground-floor retail space and modernizing the office space on the floors above, Real Estate Weekly reported. The property also contains 96,000 square feet of air rights, The Real Deal first reported. A $50.2 million acquisition loan was secured for the purchase.
