There aren’t many architects nowadays who would expect to get the opportunity to work on a Gothic Revival Castle in New York City, but TRA Studios is doing exactly that in The Bronx’s Riverdale neighborhood. Back in July of 2014, YIMBY reported on new building applications for 4261 Park Avenue, in The Bronx’s Tremont neighborhood. Now, the COOKFOX-designed project, dubbed Park House, is ready to open with an official address of 4275 Park Avenue.
Downtown Stamford, Connecticut, is about to see doors open for a brand new luxurious 26-story glass high-rise mixed-use building. The new building is coming to 355 Atlantic Street and will be a major addition to Stamford’s downtown skyline.
Jersey City‘s soon-to-be-tallest skyscraper at 99 Hudson Street has had a fairly speedy rise into the skyline following its ground-breaking back in January of 2016. YIMBY last checked in on the project in August of last year, when foundation work had just begun, and since then, the building has sprouted well above ground. Now, the tower is rising above the garage and retail portion, and facade installation has also begun.
Last week, YIMBY featured a terrible new hotel coming to 525 Eighth Avenue, off the northwest corner of 34th Street and Eighth Avenue. A few blocks to the north and west, on the southwest corner of Ninth Avenue and 42nd Street, another architectural atrocity is getting ready to open its doors, at 577 Ninth Avenue, and Tectonic has the latest photos of progress.
