Tishman Speyer to Develop 630,000-Square-Foot Office Space Atop the Morgan North Postal Facility in West Chelsea

Tishman Speyer and the United States Post Office have concluded negotiations to redevelop the upper floors of a historic postal facility into a dynamic office complex above West Chelsea. Known as the Morgan North Postal Facility, the building was originally completed in 1933 and encompasses an entire city block from Ninth to Tenth Avenue and 29th to 30th Streets.

Hunters Point Library Opens to the Public in Long Island City

Hunters Point Library at 47-07 Center Boulevard in Long Island City is finally open. The five-story, Steven Holl Architects-designed structure features a soaring atrium with a winding circulation pattern of programs that encompass each level and concludes with a public outdoor rooftop terrace. The bright white architecturally finished concrete walls and oversized abstract windows create a bold juxtaposition with the surrounding architectural language along the East River.

Delancey Street Associates Commissions 10,600-Square-Foot Mural at Essex Crossing on the Lower East Side

One of the city’s largest-ever public murals will soon adorn The Rollins, one of nine buildings at the Essex Crossing mega-project on the Lower East Side. Brooklyn art duo ASVP was commissioned for the project following a borough-wide call for submissions from Delancey Street Associates, the development team responsible for Essex Crossing.
