Demolition is progressing rapidly at 270 Park Avenue, the site of JP Morgan Chase‘s new 1,425-foot-tall headquarters in Midtown East and number three on our end-of-year countdown. The firm is demolishing its former 707-foot-tall, 52-story tower to make way for the massive supertall, which will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space. The full-block parcel is located between Park and Madison Avenues and East 47th and 48th Streets.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has approved the residential redevelopment of a historic mixed-use building at 315 Broadway in Tribeca. The landmarked structure was originally constructed around 1861 and currently contains a small retail component on the ground floor and four loft spaces above.
Construction began last week on Williamsbridge Gardens, a two-building affordable housing development in the Williamsbridge neighborhood of The Bronx. Developed by B&B Urban and L+M Development Partners and designed by MHG Architects, the pair of eight-story buildings located at 722 East 212th Street and 711 East 211th Street will bring 170 units of affordable housing to low- and moderate-income families.
