Local officials and community groups recently celebrated the completion of 645 Main Street, a new affordable housing property in Peekskill, New York. Developed by the Housing Action Council and Wilder Balter Partners, the 82-unit building will be reserved for individuals and households earning between 40 and 80 percent area median income.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 811 Lexington Avenue Senior Residences, a four-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Think Architecture and Design and developed in part by Northeastern Conference of Seventh Day Adventists, the structure yields 63 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 43 units for residents at 50 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $56,500.
Renovation work is continuing to progresses on One Times Square, a 26-story tower at 1475 Broadway in Times Square. Designed by S9 Architecture with SLCE as the architect of record and developed by Jamestown, the $500 million project involves the gut renovation and re-cladding of the 395-foot-tall structure, along with the addition of new LED displays and viewing decks with platforms that overlook the famous crossroads. R&R Scaffolding Companies will supply the BMU and Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a trapezoidal plot bound by West 43rd Street to the north, West 42nd Street to the south, Broadway to the east, and Seventh Avenue to the west.
Demolition is steadily progressing at 8-16 West 45th Street, the site of a forthcoming development from Lori Buchbinder of Buchbinder & Warren, LLC in Midtown, Manhattan. The 9,241-square-foot assemblage consists of four low-rise commercial structures ranging between three and seven stories with 92 feet of frontage. Ancora Engineering was the applicant of record on permits filed in 2021, and Alba Services is the demolition contractor for the property, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
The renovation and expansion of a 19th century rowhouse at 1209 Park Avenue can now move forward following approvals by the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC).
