Permits have been filed for a new four-story school within walking distance of Yankee Stadium. The lot, at 316 East 165th Street, is currently used for parking. The project is being developed by Bronx-based CG Educational Holding Corporation, and the school will be twelve blocks away from the 167th street stop on the B and D subway lines.
Post-rezoning, Hudson Square is bustling with residential redevelopments, with sites like 100 Varick, 100 Vandam, and 565 Broome Street now rising all at once. Yesterday, the New York City Planning Commission unanimously approved a new affordable housing development for 3 Livonia Avenue, in Brownsville. This will be the fifth project in Brooklyn by the non-profit partnership of Breaking Ground and The African American Planning Commission Inc. The development, named Edwin’s Place, will create 125 rental units for homeless and low-income families, and comes as part of the Mayor’s housing initiative to build 80,000 new, affordable units over a span of ten years.

The location is just four blocks away from the Flatbush Avenue Station, which is the end of the line for the 2 and 5 trains. The stop is central to a busy retail area next to the Brooklyn College campus.
